Conservation Week—Annual Planting Day
Celebrating 20 years of the Otatara Landcare Group, 15,000 hours at Bushy Point and 30,000 native plants planted
WHERE: Bushy Point, access and off-road parking from 5 Bryson Rd, Otatara
WHEN: Saturday, 14 September 2019
TIME: Gather at 9:30 am for the Kick-Off Competition*
BRING: Family, friends, sturdy footwear, clothing for the conditions, gloves, spade and water and prepare to plant our 30,000th plant!
JOIN US AFTERWARDS… We’ll have a place to wash your hands and a port-a-loo for your comfort. We’ll crank up the BBQ for a snag (or two or three). There’ll be games and competitions, spot prizes and giveaways, a mystery mascot and the cutting of the cake. More Details (PDF, 3.79 MB)

An easy walk through one of Otatara’s largest native forest remnants is full of interest. Your guides are knowledgeable about native fauna and flora – and the problems caused by more recent invaders. Find out about pest control and the difference it is making!
The return along estuary foreshore reveals traces of human history from early Maori activity to Otatara’s first sawmill site.
When? Tuesday 26 March at 6.30 p.m.
Where? Meet at the Reserve entrance at the end of Huruhuru Road (off Erskine Road). Parking space is available.
Bring: Walking shoes or gumboots (for the estuary section).

Join OLG Chilean Flame creeper pulling at Bowman Bush, Otatara – Leader Randall Milne. But strong winds are forecast so Randall will check on Monday if it is still suitable to carry on.
